January 2021 – Declaration

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Get ready to kickstart 2021 in power, praise and purpose with Seth Pinnock and global charity, Tearfund, for ‘Declaration’s New Year Prayer Week’!

Working as the Head of African and Caribbean Engagement at Tearfund, and having founded my own charity, Symphony Co, ten years ago, my passion is to seek ways to better serve church, culture, and community.

Declaration was birthed out of a desire to seek the Lord at the beginning of the new year, knowing that when our gaze is fixed on Jesus, victory is our firm assurance! Following a challenging 2020, this New Year’s Prayer Week will open up 2021 with powerful prayer, and worship, as we believe for life-changing testimonies of hope, healing, and breakthrough for all who tune in.

There will be seven nights of powerful worship, teaching, and prayer, with each day of Declaration focusing on a different theme, including community, youth, health, and business. Each night will host powerful guest speakers, teachers, and faith leaders, including Bishop Wayne Malcolm, James Aladiran, and Reverend Celia Apeagyei-Collins.

Partnering with global charity Tearfund, which is passionate about social justice, we will also be intentionally pursuing actionable grounds to tackle the issue of world poverty, as well as hosting ground-breaking roundtables around issues such as racial injustice, as well as youth and culture. It will be a week to remember.

Join us for Declaration and help us give 2021 the head start we all need. Prayer changes everything!

Watch the week of Declaration from 3rd Jan at 8pm, with highlights at 8am!

NEWS

Prayer for the New Year

It is always great to welcome the New Year by dedicating it to God. There is one thing we can begin to pray for that affects all of us, and that is ‘community’. This prayer focuses on five areas: friends and family, schools and education, our town or city, the UK and the rest of the world.

Friends and Family
Thank You, Lord, for our friends and family who You have placed in our lives to share love and support, especially those who have been there for us through difficult times this year. We pray for those we know who have been directly affected by the pandemic, those who have lost loved ones, and whose livelihoods and work opportunities have been impacted. Be a comfort, Lord God, guide them this year, and let them turn to You and see Your perfect plan for their lives.

Schools and Education
It is great that we have education available to us in this country, and that our children can learn and grow and develop so much while in a safe environment. Thank you, Lord, for our schools, teachers, and key workers who worked tirelessly last year to keep schools going throughout this pandemic. We pray Your blessing and protection upon them. We pray that children will be able to catch up with work they have missed and not miss out in the future because of exam cancellations.

Local Communities
We thank You, God, for the place where we live, where we can be a shining light in our community. Let our local churches step up and reach more and more people despite the restrictions the pandemic has placed on them. We pray for our local authorities, that they will have wisdom and look after the most vulnerable people in our area. Let us become better neighbours and look out for one another with love.

United Kingdom
For England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, we thank You, God. Bless each nation and bring new investments, ideas, jobs, and opportunities. Many communities are terribly affected by the pandemic. Let all our governments work well and be wise in guiding us out of the other end of Covid-19. We thank You that there are vaccines now being distributed! Above all, bring a revival in this land. Let people cry out to You, Lord God, and realise that Jesus is the answer to this broken world.

The World
This planet is Your creation, Your plan, and Your footstool, Lord God. Help us to be more mindful and look after the Earth as You intended – the environment, the rainforests, the oceans, and the animals. Bring peace to nations caught up in war and look after refugees who have lost their homes and families. Be with Christians who are persecuted for their faith. Let them be filled with the Holy Spirit and with boldness. Let Your Word and the good news of Jesus Christ spread further and further. We also thank You that the Internet has allowed so many church services to be streamed online for the first time during the pandemic. We pray Your global Church will increase and grow exponentially.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

PARTNERSHIP

Thank you for helping us reach more homes and hearts than ever with life-changing content.

As we move into 2021, it’s the prayer and partnership of individuals like you that make it possible for TBN UK to reach millions of individuals and families throughout the United Kingdom with the love of Jesus through 24-hour Christian television. Thanks so much for standing with us. You’re truly making a difference!

This is to say a very big thank you for the book sent to me in the post, much appreciated. TBN UK continues to be a source of blessing to my family and I am particularly impressed by your Christ-like leadership and example in lending your voice to speak out against social injustice in our world and advocating racial reconciliation. Long may you continue to shine the bright light of the gospel till our Lord returns.
